TVXQ’s Changmin To Take Lead Role In New Drama ‘Mimi’

TVXQ's Max Changmin will be starring in Mnet's four-part drama romance "Mimi" as the lead male role.

"Mimi" is a beautiful yet unfortunate first love story of a guy and girl whose time and space have been turned upside down by fate. Changmin will be taking on the role of "Minwoo," a rising webtoon artist. In the drama Changmin will seek out his long lost first love and relive the hurtful past.

Changmin will be playing the same character of two different ages. He will be the 28 year old charismatic webtoon artist who can't remember his first love besides the pain, and the 18 year old high school student who gets butterflies in his stomach because of his first love. Changmin will take on the present and past Minwoo role, and essentially play two different characters.

Minwoo is not only good looking and romantic, but he is a good artist and a popular webtoon artist. One day he happens to find a memo on his desk by chance, which he then uses for his new webtoon "December 8." Soon thereafter, his new webtoon attracts many fans and becomes wildly popular. However, Minwoo suffers from headaches without a known cause, and his work is put at risk. That's why he decides to go in search of his long lost first love.

Changmin commented, "It's difficult to go back and forth between 28 year old Minwoo and 18 year old Minwoo because they have such different memories and emotions, but I'm going about filming it joyfully. Because the story is about first love, it's very much relatable. I hope you all take interest and have great expectations for the drama."

The first episode is scheduled to air on February 21st at 11PM.
