NBA All-Star Starters Announced; Kobe Bryant, Lebron James Lead Respective Conferences But 1st Five Line Up Has Major Omission. Who Is He?

The NBA has announced the starting five for the league's New Orleans All-Star Game during Thursday's Inside the NBA pregame on TNT with four players making their debut as first five.

In the Eastern Conference, the first team is composed of 4-time MVP Lebron James and Dywane Wade of the Miami Heat, Paul George of the Indian Pacers, Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks.

In the Western Conference, the squad is led by two-time Finals MVP Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, three-time scoring champion Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers.

The biggest omission in the line-up is Dwight Howard who for the past couple of years played as a starter while with the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers last season. According to NBA, the Superman was surpassed by then 6th placer Love who made a huge surge few days before the voting was closed. With Howard out, both the Eastern and Western conference will be playing without a traditional center.

From these ten players, four will make their debut as starters. They are Irving, Curry, Love, and George.

Curry is the biggest surprise in this year's All-Star festivity as he surpassed injured Chris Paul in the second casting of the votes. Not only that, he also garnered more votes than Bryant.

Kobe Bryant is expected to be in the All-Star this year, or maybe in the years to come, given how stacked his resume is. However, there's no assurance yet whether he can play on February since he hasn't played a game after re-injuring his knee last December. He even asked his fans to not vote for him in the All-Star and instead vote for Portrland Trailblazers' Damian Lillard.
