Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant Says Stephen Curry Is The Best Shooter Of All Time; However, The Warriors Guard's Statistics Say Otherwise

Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder is the hottest NBA player right now. After losing his tag team partner Russell Westbrook to injury, Durantula decided to take his team on his slim shoulders to lead OKC to the top of the standings in the Western Conference. He scored at least 30 points for eight consecutive games, the longest such streak of his career and made 17 of 25 field goals, including 6 of 7 3-pointers.

He is posting surreal numbers, especially from the outside. However, for him, he is not the best shooter in NBA. When asked by a fan who will win if ever he and Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors figure in a three-point shootout, he said that it would be the lanky point guard from San Francisco.

Steph any day, best shooter to ever play RT @nickyokoyama: @KDTrey5 You or Steph Curry in a 3-Point Contest?

Best shooter in the NBA is the half of the Splash Brothers, not Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, or Ray Allen.

Chris Ballard of Sports Illustrated was quick to react on KD35's opinion. On his Twitter account, he said:

"Gotta be false modesty on KD's part, right? Can't be that good and not believe in yourself, even as good as Curry is."

While Ballard thinks Durant is just being humble, some writers think the three-time scoring champion got it all wrong. SportingNews noted that Curry's three-point shooting percentage is down to .383 this year from .453 last season. When it comes to the number of attempts under 45% shooting percentage, Curry's 7.7 is no match to Glen Rice's 5.6 triples per game in 1996-97.

In November last year, DJ Foster of NBC Sport argued that claims of Curry being the best shooter in history is crazy. He wrote:

Try this one on for size: Stephen Curry is the best shooter of all-time.

You're squirming, aren't you? It doesn't sit right. You're thinking it can't possibly be true, not yet, not with every great player that has played this game. You're running through names in your head right now. Larry Bird? Steve Nash? It can't be Curry.

This debate will never get old, just like the battler of Kobe Bryant and Lebron James fan. At the end of the day, let us just think that Kevin Durant is just stating his 'own' opinion.
