Kate Upton's hot date with Tom Thibodeau was a figure of his imagination. Or it was part of a game changing strategy. Either way Tom Thibodeau backtracked on a claim that he that he dated Kate Upton.

At a press conference on Friday Tom Thibodeau, the head coach of the Chicago Bulls' head coach said he didn't want to talk about the rumor that he went on a date with supermodel Kate Upton.

Thibodeau said "The rumor about my date with Kate Upton, started by me, I'm not commenting on that, either. So, let's move on."

Move on? You admit you started the rumor and then just walk away from it? Isn't Kate Upton denying enough hot rumors about dating? Kate just had to blow out the fire started by rumors shw was dating Justin Verlander.  Upton and Verlander were rumored to be dating last year after taking a romantic Caribbean vacation together over the New Year in 2013. Kate never confirmed the relationship publicly.

Kate Upton and Justin Verlander enjoyed a secret romantic getaway after Christmas according to an Us Weekly source who said "'They spent all weekend before New Year's Eve in the Bahamas together. We spotted them looking very cozy having dinner at the restaurant Mahogany House near Lyford Cay. They were sitting on the same side of the table for a romantic meal."

Kate Upton is hot off her break up with "Dancing with the Stars" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Kate Upton recently posed for a Vogue magazine spread with the New York Giants and the Jets.

Supermodel Kate Upton has been called a "modern day Marilyn Monroe" going from Sports Illustrated covers to movies. Kate did a silver plated cameo in the film "Tower Heist" in 2011 and raised the temperatures of "The Three Stooges" in 2012. Kate Upton is currently starring with Cameron Diaz and Nicki Minaj in the romantic revenge comedy, "The Other Woman." Upton's third film, "The Other Woman," is no cameo though. It looks like she spars evenly with Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz.
