Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Former Tight Ender Can’t Watch NFL From Cell; Invokes Fifth Amendment In A Separate Case?

Aaron Hernandez' murder case update reveals that there were no special privileges for the former tight ender, who wasn't allowed to watch NFL from his cell when his former team, New England Patriots, went up against the Denver Broncos for a shot at the Super Bowl.

Aaron Hernandez was with the Patriots last year when they were knocked off by the Baltimore Ravens, which eventually went on to capture the Super Bowl XLVII trophy. This year, Aaron Hernandez is spending his time inside a small confinement in Bristol County House of Correction in North Darthmouth, Mass. pending his murder trial.

Inside the prison cell, his celebrity status is working against Aaron Hernandez as he is kept in isolation inside a 12-foot by 19-foot enclosure away from the rest of the inmate population, and the TV sets, according to Boston Herald.

When asked if Aaron Hernandez was allowed to watch NFL, Bristol Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson said, "No, he's not allowed to watch any TV."

The sheriff said there's no equipment inside the cell, "it's basically just a pen. He can do pushups, situps ... he's fine. For the most part he's cooperative," Hodgson told the Boston Herald.

Meanwhile, Aaron Hernandez is pleading the fifth on another shooting incident case filed against him.

As reported by FirstCoastNews.com, the tight end's counsels formally filed Aaron Hernandez response to the federal lawsuit which accused him of shooting Alexander Bailey, 30, during a bar quarrel.

The victim, who claimed to have lost his vision as a result, was asking for $100,000 in damages.

Aaron Hernandez earlier petitioned a Miami judge to postpone the proceedings until judgment on his pending murder charge is rendered.

Also earlier this month, the Superior Court in Bristol, Conn. issued a warrant when Aaron Hernandez was linked to a double homicide case involving Daniel Abreau, 29, and Safiro Furtado, 28, of Dorchester, Mass. who were shot dead in a drive-by attack on July 16, 2012 after having just left Cure Lounge along with three friends.
