Rookie Group GOT7 Tops U.S. Billboard World Album Chart

Rookie boy group GOT7 (JB, Mark, Jr., Jackon, Youngjae, BamBam, Yugyeom) has topped the U.S. Billboard 'World Album' chart with their first mini album, Got It?. It is very rare to see a rookie group that has just debuted to top this chart, as GOT7 debuted only 3 weeks ago.

On January 31, the Billboard chart revealed that the group had placed number 1 on the chart, and revealed their huge popularity.

This chart has been known to rank many top stars including TVXQ, EXO, Hyunjoong Kim, and others. Having GOT7 on this chart shows that this group will most likely contribute to the hallyu in the near future.

GOT7 is currently promoting their debut song, "Girls Girls Girls" and is the first boy group JYP Entertainment has released in 6 years, and is JYP's first hip hop group.

This group gained much attention for their martial arts style performance and having its members made up of 4 different nationalities, from the United States, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Korea.

Earlier, the group also topped the Hanteo charts and have received many love calls for commercials as well. GOT7 has been proving itself to be the next top idol group as it showed flashy performances using a combination of dance and martial arts.

On another hand, Jr., JB, and Youngjae have been diagnosed with H1N1 flu, and are currently resting to recover. They are expected to fully recover by the first week of February, according to a person close to the group.

The non-Korean members of the group, Mark, Jackson, and BamBam, are also staying in Korea over the lunar new year holidays, spending time with the members. In a recent interview, the members of the group had confessed that they do not fully get to realize their popularity just yet, and said that they will work even harder to show great performances in the future.
