Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: DA Requests “Coded Messages” Recordings; Cousin Of Former New England Patriots Player Out On Bail

An update on the Aaron Hernandez murder case revealed that the former New England Patriots player reportedly talked about the murder of Odin Lloyd inside the prison in a series of "coded messages." On the other hand, the former tight ender's cousin, Tanya Singleton, who has been implicated in the case is now out on bail.

With the murder case update, the District Attorney's Office in Bristol County petitioned the Fall River Superior Court on Thursday to get hold of the recordings to be used as evidence against the former tight end of the New England Patriots.

In a report by MailOnline, DA spokesperson Gregg Miliote confirmed that they filed a motion although he declined to give details because of the court's gag order.

'During those conversations, the defendant has discussed the following matters directly relevant to the circumstances surrounding the murder of Odin Lloyd,' the affidavit said, as published on MailOnline.

According to the petition, Aaron Hernandez reportedly discussed with fiancée Shayanna Jenkins and his cousin Tanya Cummings Singleton the murder of Lloyd. In a report by ESPN, the calls reportedly implicated the athlete as it details his "belief about his criminal liability."

The calls also revealed the "extent of his control over persons charged as accessories" as well as the "whereabouts and likely criminal liability" of Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, the other co-defendants in the murder case.

Both Wallace and Ortiz have pleaded not guilty to the charges of accessory after the fact. Aaron Hernandez also pleaded not guilty to the murder of Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Shayanna Jenkins.

Meanwhile, Tanya Singleton, the cousin of Aaron Hernandez, was freed on bail on Thursday.

Tanya Singleton has pleaded not guilty on conspiracy to commit accessory and criminal contempt. She was offered immunity but refused to testify to indict her cousin.

According to Fox News, Tanya Singleton reportedly helped Ernest Wallace in going to Florida after the murder and disposed of his cell phone. She also reportedly helped Carlos Ortiz escape to Puerto Rico.
