Philip Seymour Hoffman arrests made overnight. Four suspected heroin dealers were picked up for questioning in the overdose death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. Officials also disclosed that the heroin found in Hoffman's apartment was not laced with fentanyl.

Law enforcement officials told CNN  that four people who are believed to be connected to the drugs that were found in Philip Seymour Hoffman's apartment were arrested late Tuesday night. Sources told local media that the arrests happened at 7:30 p.m. in raid of three apartments in a building on Mott Street in Lower Manhattan. All suspects were charged with possession of narcotics.

The death of renowned actor Philip Seymour Hoffman led to an investigation into the drug supply chain.  The probe into the Oscar-winning actor's death led to four suspects taken into custody. According to media reports, police found dozens of bags of heroin near Hoffman's body, some marked with an ace of spades or an ace of hearts. The New York Daily News reported that none of the heroin bags found in the Tuesday night raid were stamped with such either the ace of spades or the ace of hearts.

Acting on informants' tips that the deadly drug originated from the Mott St. location, police busted three men and one woman.  The four suspects were taken into custody. The raid found more than 350 bags of heroin. An unnamed law enforcement official told the New York Times that investigators were led to the building during their probe of Hoffman's death.

The New York Post reported that police arrested Robert Vineberg, 57, Thomas Kushman, 48, who were charged with felony drug possession. The police also arrested Max Rosenblumm 22, and Juliana Luchkiw, 22. They were charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

According to one report, Robert Vineberg's stepdaughter claimed Vineberg hadn't seen Philip Seymour Hoffman since November. She said "He was very upset," about the actor's death. Robert Vineberg was of one of the people arrested at the Mott St. apartment.

The medical examiner announced that an autopsy of the late actor was inconclusive and that more tests would be needed to determine his cause of death. Officials said that the heroin found in Hoffman's apartment did not contain the pain reliever fentanyl, which has killed 22 people in Pennsylvania.

When the police went to Hoffman's Manhattan apartment on Sunday shortly after 11:30 a.m., they found him lying on the bathroom floor with a syringe in his left arm. According to law enforcement sources, the actor was wearing eyeglasses, shorts and a T-shirt. Two clear envelopes of what appeared to be heroin were found nearby. Eight empty envelopes also were discovered in the apartment.

A private funeral service for Philip Seymour Hoffman is scheduled for Sunday in New York City. There will be a memorial service in New York later this month.
