Orphan Black Tatiana Maslany Fans Start Crowdfunding Campaign To Get Her An Award; Fans Also Intend To Built A Statue For The Canadian Actress

BBC America's Orphan Black has turned heads in just one season. The show has been in conversations of must watch shows and must see dramas for 2014. Despite that, fans still think that the show is under appreciated, especially lead actress Tatiana Maslany who is playing at least seven roles in the sci-fi drama series.

So, to pay Maslany's brilliance, Orphan Black has come up with a campaign to get her an award. Avid fan Sarah Evans set up a crowdfunding campaign aiming to raise money which they will use to create a special hand-crafted statue that will be delivered to the 28-year old Canadian star.

"When Tatiana Maslany was snubbed for an Emmy I decided to take things into the fans' hands," Evans explains on the Indiegogo page.

Tatiana was first snubbed by Emmy and was recently nominated for the Golden Globe best actress in drama series, only to lose to Robin Wright of Netflix's House of Cards. She has actually won a Best Actress trophy at the Critics' Choice Television Award, TCA Award, and EWwy Award. What the fans want for her is a major acting award.

"I am a part of different fandoms. I see fans coming together and helping support the actors all the time. I think this is a great way for the Clone Club to unite and show our support for Tatiana Maslany and the amazing work she does on Orphan Black. Orphan Black is confirmed to be back for season 2 in April 2014 and through this campaign I think we can show them how much the fans appreciate her amazing performances!," Evans wrote in an open letter.

"Attention Clone Club members. I know we're a loud and rowdy bunch so let's use that to our advantage! Please spread the word about the campaign. Use the share tools and post to all the fan sites, blogs, and bathroom stalls you can find. I want as many fans from all over the world to be involved with the project."
