LA Clippers Chris Paul Marks Return With A Statement Game; CP3 Excited To Attend New Orleans All-Star Where He ‘Should’ve Been An MVP’

Los Angeles Clippers premier point guard Chris Paul is back in the game after being sidelined for a couple of months because of shoulder injury. He made his return at home versus the Philadelphia 76ers and he did it in a CP3 kind of way.

The 218-year old point guard showed no signs of rust as he helped his team clobbered the visiting Sixers, 124-78. Paul scored 7 points in 23 minutes of play and dished out eight assists, most of which lead to highlight reels from Blake Griffin who scored 26 points.

Fans and his teammates are happy with his return, which according to coach Doc Rivers didn't even affected the plays they drew while Paul was out.

"You guys talked about it," Rivers told the media regarding the reintegration of Paul. "I said we wouldn't have to. And we didn't, as you could tell."

"We just kind of let it happen," Griffin said. "If he's out ahead, I'm going to give him the ball 99 percent of the time. But if I'm out ahead or on the side and we've got runners, why not. That's something we kind of learned throughout this stretch."

Now that Paul appears healthy, he is now looking forward to the New Orleans All-Star Game where he was selected as a reserve for the Western Conference. The 6'0 spitfire guard from Wake Forest treats the upcoming All-Star as a vindication, saying he should've been an MVP with his first NBA team.

"I'm excited," Paul said. "I'm excited. I don't know how much you guys remember that game, but it was my first All-Star Game and I felt like was supposed to get MVP or something like that. If we would have one I felt like I had a good shot at it.

"There was no question, no question (that he wanted to return from injury to play in the All-Star Game). But it was one of those things unfortunately that was all about me getting healthy. Even though the All-Star Game is an honor and a privilege, for me it is more important to be healthy and out there for my teammates and team. The All-Star Game is second on that list. But it feels good to be (playing in New Orleans)."
