ZE:A's Yim Siwan On His Meteoric Acting Success: 'I Feel Like I Got More Than I Deserve Throughout 2013'

Fans of ZE:A singer Yim Siwan most likely can't belief the blinding pace at which the 25-year-old star's acting career has taken off.

Siwan can't believe it either.

After getting his acting career rolling with roles in the 2012 South Korean television dramas "Moon Embracing The Sun" and "Man From The Equator," the following year surpassed Siwan's wildest dreams. The actor landed roles in the films "The Attorney" and the prequel "Misaeng."

"I feel like I've been lucky for the past two years," Siwan told eNEWS, in an interview published on Sunday.

"I especially got more than I deserve throughout 2013. I haven't been setting goals for the New Year since 2012, since I was already getting such good results. I was afraid to ask for more. I just hope that I can maintain how I'm doing now, but even that's a hard task. How could I hope to keep appearing in movies that sell over 10 million tickets?"

The singer-turned-actor admitted that his rapid dramatic success has led to a rift between his music and film fans.

"My fans get divided up into acting fans and singing fans," Siwan said.

"But that's just something I have to deal with. I cannot choose which field I feel more attached to. I am greedy, so I cannot give up on either of them."

And though ZE:A's Hwang Kwanghee was initially jealous of his bandmate's success, he has apparently gotten over it.

"He's not jealous anymore, because I think he realized the path he has to walk," Siwan said, chuckling.

And as for the other members of ZE:A?

"Both Kwang Hee and Hyung Sik have been doing well in their [entertainment careers outside of music]," he said.

"Just like how Kwang Hee, Hyung Sik and Dong Jun received attention, as time goes by, I'm sure the other members will get opportunity to shine, as well. This will naturally raise each of our profiles."
