Government ‘Whistle Blower’ Julia Davis On Why She Believes Brittany Murphy Was Targeted For Supporting Her [EXCLUSIVE]

The 2010 death of Brittany Murphy, known for her roles in such films as "Clueless" and "8 Mile," is the subject of a new controversy that has pitted her biological parents against each other.

According to CNN, the Los Angeles County coroner ruled Murphy's death a combination of pneumonia, iron deficiency and intoxication from several drugs.

According to According to Britain's MailOnline, The Carlson Company, which conducted toxicology tests at the request of Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti last year, the actress was experiencing symptoms of heavy metal poisoning at the time of her death, including headaches, dizziness, abdominal cramps, coughing, sweating, disorientation, wheezing, congestion and pneumonia.

But government whistleblower Julia Davis, who co-starred with the actress in "Girl, Interrupted," Davis told KpopStarz in an exclusive interview, "Bertolotti said Murphy was under surveillance and under investigation because she was named as a witness in my case."

The actress's mother, Sharon Murphy, wrote an open letter in The Hollywood Reporter claiming "Brittany never cooperated with Julia Davis, never signed any statement in support of her, never met with her and barely knew she existed."

"Davis did try to contact Brittany through her agent, but all she got back was a letter from [her agent] which we have, telling Davis that their client knew nothing about her claims and would not meet with her," Murphy's mom added.

According to Davis, while working as a Customs and Border Protection Officer at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in California, she wrote a report outlining shortcomings in how applicants from terrorist countries processed VISAs for entry into the US.

One week before Sharon Murphy published her statement in the Hollywood Reporter, the UK paper the Daily Mail reported that Bertolotti believes his daughter was "poisoned by government spooks in revenge" for the star's support of Davis.

Bertolotti claimed his phone was tapped after he voiced support for Davis.

"Mr. Bertolotti never identified any suspects in Brittany's murder," Davis said.

"He merely pointed out that his daughter was terrorized and placed under surveillance by the Department of Homeland Security."

Sharon Murphy calls the whole thing an attempt to "smear my daughter's memory by a man who may be her biological father but was never a real father to her in her lifetime."

"[The Carlson Company] report conveniently ignores what any good scientist will tell you; a hair sample can be affected by many outside factors, including hair dye, hair spray, prescription medications, foods, smoking the occasional cigarette and environmental factors," she wrote in her November statement.

"One cause we now know may have been toxic mold that was eventually discovered in that house, which may have been what really killed her. We will never know for sure. However, we do know the Los Angeles County Coroner did extensive tests and found that she died of natural causes. And now she is a real living angel in heaven."
