Sochi Olympics Problems Inaccurate And Exaggerated? Journalists Tweets Getting Out Of Hand?

Right from the start, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia has faced international criticism. Even Russian president Vladimir Putin isn't excluded from such criticisms. Visitors of the much awaited event couldn't help but notice the city's ailing facilities and infrastructure. For this reason, journalists came up with "Sochi Olympics Problems" - a collection of complaints stemming from Sochi's alleged lack of welcoming accommodation.

Many asked for the prestigious Winter Olympics to be moved tro a new location. Apart from the facilities, Russia's anti-gay laws were offensive for the event's LGBT athletes and media representatives.

Journalists are currently using several social media networks in promoting the negative aspects of the Southern Russian Region. Most of the tweets contain complaints from the reportedly unacceptable living areas.

The Twitter account @SochiProblems has more fans than the event's official hashtags #Olympics2014 and #sochi2014.

The tweets oftentimes include photos of the complaints such as peach-colored water, showers with electrical wires, rooms with debris, and bathrooms with shared toilet bowls.

Since Russian people commonly do not speak English, they have less chances of understanding the tweets about them. Hence, they are left defenseless.

Are the Sochi Olympics Problems posts merely provide humor or are they getting out of hand?
