Amanda Knox Inspired Film Is “A Journey Beyond The Truth;” BBC Three Shows Documentary On “Foxy Knoxy” Featuring Meredith Kercher’s Siblings

The Amanda Knox-inspired film starring Kate Berkinsale and Daniel Bruhl has released a trailer as it bills itself as "a journey beyond the truth." The movie is just one of the upcoming shows featuring Amanda Knox as BBC Three is also set to feature a documentary based on the testimonies of Meredith Kercher's siblings.

The 30-second clip of the Amanda Knox-inspired film, "The Face of An Angel," showed reporter Simone Ford (Kate Berkinsale) as she arrives in Italy and tries to make sense of the fact and fiction surrounding the murder.

MailOnline reported that the "Underworld" actress immersed herself into her role and even asked for the help of CNN journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau to make her acting realistic. It's also natural that she would choose the journalist because the film is based on her book "Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox."

The website reported that Kate Berkinsale was given front row seat to the methods of used by the reporter as well as the red carpet welcome to all the offices used by Nadeau just near the Trevi fountain.

Meanwhile, a one-off documentary will be aired by BBC Three, which will focus on the siblings of Meredith Kercher, the student who was murdered in 2007.

The 60-minute documentary is produced by journalists Paul Russell and Andrea Vogt, according to UK's Mirror.

"Andrea and Paul have followed every twist and turn of this story and captured all of the key moments and important interviewees," said Steve Anderson, managing director of the company producing the film, told Digital Spy.

Kate Beckinsale plays Simone Ford, an American journalist, who teams up with English filmmaker Thomas (Daniel Bruhl), Cara Delevigne will play Melanie who has a fling with Thomas while Genevieve Gaunt will reportedly play the character inspired by Amanda Knox.

Thomas is loosely based on Rafaelle Sollecito, the former boyfriend of Amanda Knox and co-defendant of the case. Carla Delevigne will play the character inspired by murdered British student Meredith Kercher.

Amanda Knox was recently found guilty during a retrial by a panel of jurors and judges and was sentenced to 28 years and six months in jaial, while her former boyfriend, Raffaelle Sollecito, was also sentenced to 25 years in prison.
