US BuzzFeed Acknowledges U-KISS As One Of the Most Popular K-Pop Groups In The World

With the slogan, "The Media Company for the Social Age" US-based website BuzzFeed is the one-stop shop for all things viral. And with K-Pop leading the world music scene in terms of YouTube hits and a diverse group of global followers, it tends to pop up rather frequently on the site in a variety of incantations.

The latest BuzzFeed support for Korean music comes in the form of a long-form article questioning why popular six-member boy band U-KISS seem to continually get snuffed by music consumers in their home country.

Written by BuzzFeed contributor Amy He, 'U-KISS is One of the Most Popular K-Pop Groups in the World, So Why Aren't They Huge in Korea?' explores the group's popularity on a global scale with emphasis placed on their recent US concert tour.

Last month, U-KISS descended upon the United States performing dynamic live shows for fans in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for their first-ever American tour where they were met by a surprising amount of local media interest.

However, despite their incredible talent and wide-ranging fanbase, the group still has yet to make a big mark in South Korea.

Over the course of their six-year career, U-KISS holds few awards and music show trophies and while their music is not un-popular, new singles rarely make it to the top of the music charts.

The members remain optimistic, however, as He explains in her article. And with this new-found international attention, the group definitely shows no signs of slowing anytime soon.
