Eminem Hits The Lanes Down Under; Slim Shady Arrives in Melbourne For Tour; Teetotaling Rapper Goes Bowling

Eminem, the rap god, kicked off his "Rapture" tour at Western Springs stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday, February 15. This was New Zealand's first-ever rap concert in a stadium. This is the first time Eminem has played in New Zealand.

Slim Shady is a teetotaler, giving up the ganj and the drinks years ago, so he wound down by knocking over some pins at Strike Bowling QV in Little Lonsdale Street.

Eminem's The Rapture Tour has been getting great reviews. The New Zealand Herald wrote that the rap god gave a  "breathless, exhilarating and seriously loud show."

New Zealand's 3 News had a problem with the PA, saying the "sound quality at the show left a little to be desired." But still thought Eminem gave a "flawless performance" at an "open-air spectacle worthy of the expensive admission."

New Zealand Herald also found that Eminem's show "had more than than its fair share of problems leading up to the night."

The 13 time Grammy winner Eminem is next set to play Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on February 19.

Eminem showed up in Melbourne a couple days early the now-sober Rap God hit Strike Bowling QV, "surrounded by at least three body guards in his small entourage."

Eminem tossed out the booze in favor of Gundelsheim pickles, low-fat yoghurt, peanut butter, jumbo shrimps and Swiss mild cheddar cheese. No longer lifting pints, Eminem now lifts weights and has it in his touring rider that there should be barbells backstage.

Eminem played for 55,000 at Western Springs. Police said the NRL Auckland Nines crowd, who weren't teetotalers, were very well behaved.

Eminem hits the stage with Kendrick Lamar, 360, J Cole and Action Bronson on this leg of the Rapture festival at Melbourne's Etihad stadium.
