Big Bang’s ‘Alive’ Earned Gold Certification in Japan!

Popular idol group Big Bang proves their popularity in Japan as their latest album ‘Alive’ set a new record.

Big Bang’s Japanese version of ‘Alive’ earned gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIJA) released today for the month of April. The album released on March 28 received an explosive response on the first day as it sold 23,000 + units and reached #2 on the Oricon charts as well as topping iTunes Japan.

The group most recently won the international award ‘Best Fan’ at MTV Italy’s 2012 TRL Awards as the first Asian singer beating out world pop stars such as Avril Lavigne, and One Direction.

Big Bang will kick off their Japan arena tour on May 17 visiting Nagoya, Osaka, Saitama and Fukuoka.
