Jessica Michibata Will Marry Jenson Button; Formula One Driver Pops The Question to Fashion Model Girlfriend With $400,000 Bling Ring

Jessica Michibata the hot Argentine-Japanese fashion model, is getting married. Jessica Michibata has been dating Jenson Button for five years and was spotted wearing a sparkler this weekend.

Former world champion Formula One driver Jenson Button popped the question to his long time model girlfriend, Jessica Michibata, with a $400,000 bling ring.

A representative for Jenson and Jessica told the Daily Mail that the couple were "delighted" to confirm that will be getting married after Jessica Michibata was seen wearing a huge tear-shaped diamond engagement ring during a trip to Bahrain on Friday.

The Formula One driver went all out for the proposal. The engagement ring is reported to be a five-carat, three stoned large teardrop design diamond set in a diamond-encrusted platinum band that cost more than $400,000.

According to Vashi Dominguez, a diamond jewellery specialist, "This is a stunning engagement ring but a brave choice if Jenson selected it himself.... As the ring is so unusual, we suspect it might be an occasional piece for show rather than being worn every day, as for someone as sporty and active as Jessica the shape and weight is not very practical. It is not unusual for couples to invest in a second, more practical ring when a large stone such as this is purchased, so we may well see Jessica occasionally wearing a more traditional round cut solitaire when in need of something for everyday wear."

Jessica Michibata, 29, was born to an Argentine father and a Japanese mother. Michibata is the middle child of three sisters who are all fashion models. Jessica Michibata is currently the face of TAG Heuer.

Jessica Michibata and Jenson Button have been dating for five years.

Jenson Button's team took to Twitter to say "Huge congrats to @JensonButton and @jessybondgirl on their engagement! #attaboy".

Button's new teammate, Kevin Magnussen tweeted: "Wow! Well done to JensonButton & jessybondgirl on your engagement!''

The wedding news comes out about a month after the Jenson lost his father John, 70, to a suspected heart attack in Monaco.

Michibata and Button met at bar in a Tokyo hotel in 2008. At first, Michibata turned him down because she thought he was a womanizer. Eight months later they began dating. When Jenson became Formula One World Champion in 2009, he dedicated his victory to his gorgeous model girlfriend.

Button was been engaged before. Button planned to marry actress and singer Louise Griffiths who he started dating in 2000. They announced their engagement in 2003. But three months before the wedding in 2005 he called off plans.
