Photos are memories. It is a way to eternalize your loved ones, beautiful landscapes and treasured events. In this way, being a singer is directly related to photography. Just like how pictures conserve memories, songs and albums are a manifestation of an individual's memory into melodies and harmonies. The lyrics can express a story, paint a landscape or revive an event. Both forms of art are a way to share one's experiences with the people he/she loves.

For 2NE1's Sandara Park, her life as a singer and amateur photographer overlap. Nicknamed by many as the 'advertiser of YG Entertainment', Sandara is known to be fiercely active through her Twitter and various SNS accounts in which she restlessly uploads photographs of herself and her various day-to-day activities. Whether it be a photo of her waiting in line at the YG cafeteria, preparing for a concert, being comical with her fellow 2NE1 members or getting her hair done, she shows it all.

Why does Sandara Park take photographs? What does it mean to her?

To answer these questions, reporter Jeon Hyung Hwa from Star News visited the YG building. Sandara Park was waiting in the 3^rd floor recording studio. Known for his obsession with teddy bear figures, the recording studio was decorated along the likes of YG boss Yang Hyun Suk. Baby-size teddy bear figures stood inside the room as well as other action figures such as Mazinga Z.

When asked why she takes photographs, Sandara responded, "After making my debut with 2NE1, I wanted to find a way to communicate easily with my fans. I came across photography through social networking websites and so I started using it."

She added, "Our fans are extremely interested in our day-to-day lives and I believe it is our responsibility to share it with them."

Sandara Park stated that she started taking photographs even before her debut with 2NE1. Even during her days in the Philippines and her participation in ABS-CBN's 'Star Circle Quest' she was already emerged in this activity of taking photos.

After her acting and singing career in the Philippines, Sandara Park was introduced into the Korean entertainment industry in 2004 through SBS's "Experience! Global Village Homestay". In 2007 she signed a contract with YG Entertainment. Two years later, in May of 2009, she made her debut with 2NE1. Amongst worries of not being good enough and not being talented enough, her day finally came to show herself to the world. During these days of training and hard work before her debut, she captured every single moment. Photographs of her sitting by herself in YG's practice room bring back memories of loneliness, desperation and hopelessness.

Sandara Park keeps talking, "Before our debut and even 3 years after, I feel like all the other members have legitimate qualities to show on stage. CL can rap, Park Bom can sing and Minzy can dance. This is my way of contributing to our career as a girl group."
