Benedict Cumberbatch Girlfriend: Who Was His Date For The Oscars 2014? Single ‘12 Years A Slave’ Actor Parties With Co-Star Michael Fassbender!

Benedict Cumberbatch didn't take a girlfriend or even a woman to the Oscars 2014 - instead, his date seemed to be his fellow single "12 Years A Slave" co-star Michael Fassbender!

Benedict Cumberbatch isn't currently dating anyone publicly, and there are no reports of a potential girlfriend in the picture. But the "Sherlock" star is one of the most desired men in the celebrity world (he's topped countless "Sexiest" polls). So who did he take to the Oscars 2014 in place of a girlfriend? Michael Fassbender!

According to Fashion & Style, Benedict Cumberbatch, 37, and Michael Fassbender, 36, had a lot to celebrate - their film won Best Picture at the Oscars 2014. Entertainmentwise reports that Cumberbatch and Fassbender were joined at the AGO Oscars after-party by their "12 Years A Slave" co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor, 36. Ejiofur brought his longtime girlfriend Sari Mercer as his Oscars date and also celebrated at the Governors Ball after-party.

At the end of the party, Cumberbatch headed home alongside publicist Karon Maskill - despite his lack of a lady date, he wore a smile on his face on the way out of the party!

As we previously reported, this Valentine's Day British women would rather have dated Benedict Cumberbatch than David Beckham, according to Marie Claire UK. The online dating help site datingpriceguide.co.uk revealed that Cumberbatch is the most-wanted man in the UK right now, with 16% of voters saying they want to be dating Benedict Cumberbatch for the romantic holiday. Prince William, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, and Will Smith were among the top 10 names, while Danny Dyer stole 7% of the vote.

But Cumberbatch, who has also been voted the sexiest movie star in an Empire poll, revealed in an interview last December that being famous actually makes it "harder" to meet women.

"It is harder [meeting women], because people think they know more about you than they actually do. And you can't control that...You can't control perceptions of you," Benedict Cumberbatch said in an interview in GQ UK's January 2014 issue, in which the "Sherlock" star graces the cover.
