TVXQ & Girls’ Generation’s Parallel Fashion?

Girl group Girls' Generation and TVXQ showcased similar costume concepts.

TVXQ and Girls' Generation both performed their songs on the March 6th broadcast of cable channel Mnet's "M! Countdown," and kicked off their comeback activities.

On this show, TVXQ performed the song "Spellbound" from their 7th full length album Tense. They showed up wearing quite interesting attire. Yunho wore a white shirt and a formal-looking dark colored vest to go along with ripped jeans. Changmin also wore formal looking attire complete with a bowtie, but for his bottoms he wore jeans. The seemingly unbalanced outfit gave off a strange kind of harmony.

More than anything, this outfit was reminiscent of Girls' Generation's first comeback performance costumes. They had a similar concept, but the girl group members wore fedoras, red checkered neckties, vests, and jackets. They also wore jeans for their bottoms.

TVXQ and Girls' Generation both belong to the same agency, SM Entertainment, and it just so happens that they'll both be active this March with their music activities. TVXQ is continuing their activities following "Something", and Girls' Generation is having their comeback in about a year and 2 months with their 4th mini album.

TVXQ's "Spellbound" has a brief shuffle rhythm and a groovy bass riff, which are backed up by a light electric guitar and joyous brass sound to create a bouncy melody in this soul funk song. The lyrics talk about how love is similar to magic that keeps you falling deeper and deeper into it, as if spellbound.

Girls' Generation's "Mr.Mr." is an R&B dance song that was made by world-renowned producing team The Underdogs. In the song, the girls sing a message of support to men, encouraging them to be strong and confident.
