T-ARA’s Jiyeon & Hyomin Go Solo! - ‘Coming Of Age’ Vs ‘Ten Minute’

Six-member girl group T-ARA's Jiyeon and Hyomin officially announced that they will be going solo. What kind of concept will they go with to greet their fans?

According to several music sources on the 11th, "Jiyeon and Hyomin will both release new solo songs mid-April." They also emphasized, "However their solo concepts are both very different." According to them, Jiyeon is preparing a '2014 Coming of Age' concept for her solo debut.

"Coming of Age" was sung by Park Ji Yoon in 2000, and was written and composed by producer Park Jin Young. It was a song that highlighted Park Ji Yoon's sexiness. Even now 14 years later, it is often referred to when talking about sexy female solo singers. Therefore Jiyeon's upcoming concept is attracting that much more attention.

On the other hand, Hyomin is going with a so-called '2014 Ten Minute' concept for her solo debut.

"Ten Minute" was sung by Korea's top female singer Lee Hyori in 2003, and is a hip hop based song with a rhythmical melody. This song is the one that helped Lee Hyori go from girl group Fin.K.L. leader to Korea's leading female solo singer. That's because she used "Ten Minute" to showcase her approachability, friendliness, and maturity at the same time.

One music rep stated, "Jiyeon is working with famous composer team Duble Sidekick, and Hyomin's working with Brave Brothers. Since they are preparing solo songs with these talented people, their respective concepts will definitely be riding the current. Jiyeon and Hyomin will show off their individual personalities through their solo debuts." The rep continued, "Even now Jiyeon and Hyomin are working with staff for their solo song productions. They will both be standing in front of their fans with different music colors and concepts."

T-ARA's agency Core Contents Media officially announced on the 10th, "T-ARA members Jiyeon and Hyomin will each be coming out with solo albums." According to the agency, Jiyeon will solo debut first mid-April, and Hyomin will follow.

Jiyeon is working with producer Duble Sidekick and stylist Im Soo Jung for her solo debut. Previously Double Sidekick has worked on Girl's Day's "Something," SISTAR's "Give It To Me" & "Loving You", and Leessang's "Tears". Stylist Im Soo Jung is responsible for female singers such as Davichi and Sunmi.

Hyomin is working with hit maker Brave Brothers, who has created works such as Sunmi's "Full Moon", Hyolyn's "One Way Love", SISTAR's "Alone", and 4MINUTE's "What's Your Name", along with T-ARA's stylist Lee Eun Ah for her solo debut.

Both Jiyeon and Hyomin will still remain T-ARA members, and are planning to return after they complete their solo activities.
