Paul Walker Death: 'Fast & Furious 7' Star Paul Walker Crash Caused by Speed, Not Drugs, Not Mechanical Failure; Fast and Furious 7 Resume Production

Paul Walker Death: Paul Walker car crash was caused by speed, not mechanical problems. Investigators say Roger Rodas, Paul Walker's close friend who also died in the crash, was going between 81 mph and 94 mph when the Porsche began to drift and lost control coming out of a curve.

According to an investigation by law enforcement agencies into the November accident the Porsche carrying "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker was traveling approximately 90 mph when it lost control on a suburban street and crashed.

Porsche sent engineers to California to review the wreckage. The engineers were able to do a thorough analysis, in spite of the damage to the car. They found no problems with the car's electrical systems, brakes, throttle, fuel system, steering, suspension or other systems.

Porsche declined a request for comment Tuesday.

The conclusion about the speed was based on a "yaw" mark that one of the car's tires left on the road in an area of industrial office parks in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Commander Mike Parker said "Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions."

Accident reconstruction specialists with the Highway Patrol wrote "The vehicle had no mechanical failure and the damage that occurred to the vehicle was from the collision."

The report has not been officially released yet.

In December the Associated Press reported that investigators found no evidence that the car had mechanical problems and ruled out debris or other roadway conditions.

On November 30, Paul Walker and his longtime friend Roger Rodas died in a car explosion in Southern California. According to the report, the car crashed into a pole and several trees on Hercules Street in Santa Clarita. The force of the crash was so strong that the car continued spinning after the driver's side hit a light pole and tree. The car continued spinning until Walker's passenger side slammed into another tree and burst into flames. Walker had been in Santa Clarita for a fundraiser benefiting his charity Reach Out Worldwide.

According to reports, Universal Pictures is set to will resume shooting "Fast and Furious 7" in April. The production took a hiatus starting after Paul Walker's tragic death in December. Paul Walker and his friend, Roger Rodas died in the car crash last year. In Fast and Furious 7, Paul Walker plays Brian O'Connor, a former FBI agent-turned-criminal. Walker played the on-screen sidekick to Vin Diesel's character of Dominic Toretto.
