As "Pretty Little Liars" goes into production for season 5, spoilers regarding a potential new love interest for either Emily or Paige have surfaced.

Reportedly, a new potentially recurring character named Sydney will be introduced on "Pretty Little Liars" season 5, who will be a new member of the high school swim team.

Although details are scarce regarding Sydney, the fact that she will join the swim team automatically has "Pretty Little Liars" fans linking her to either Emily or Paige.

Now that Emily and Paige (Paily) are broken up, some fans are waiting for a relationship to develop between Alison and Emily. But could Sydney indicate that neither Emison nor Pemily shippers will get what they want in season 5?

"For the Paige and Emily fans, I would say to hold tight. Nothing's ever said and done. And I will say to the Emison fans, you never know what could happen again. So stay tuned," says actress Shay Mitchell according to E! Online.

As season 5 begins, the fact that Alison will join the cast on a regular basis definitely has many fans wanting Emily to move on to Alison.

"I had a hint of how big it would be when they found out [about their past], but now, I'm even more shocked with everything. You think it's going to be big, but you don't realize how big the reaction is actually going to be."

"Let's just say there are a lot of fans for Emison, and there are also a lot of Paily fans that are like, what's going to happen to Paige and Emily? And to be honest, I don't know," admits Mitchell.
