Actor Hyun Bin made his face known through MBC's sitcom "Nonstop 4" in 2003. He played a serious and morally good person in the sitcom, and quickly gained popularity through this good looks and stable acting skills. He won the Rookie Award at the MBC Drama Awards through his first role in MBC drama "Ireland" in 2004. In 2005 he starred in MBC drama "My Name Is Kim Sam Soon", which recorded over 50% viewership at the time. This is when he became a 'star'. Since then he's starred in various other works, including KBS 2TV's "The Snow Queen" in 2006, KBS 2TV's "Worlds Within" in 2008, MBC's "Friend, Our Legend" in 2009, the movie A Millionaire's First Love in 2006, I'm Happy in 2009, and more.

His last drama before military enlistment was SBS drama "Secret Garden" in 2010. The drama was a hit with fans, and he was able to once again show his acting power after "Kim Sam Soon". He enlisted in the Marine Crops in March of 2011.

Hyun Bin will once again hit the big screen in the movie The King's Wrath. Hyun Bin will take the lead role of Kim Jeongjo, the 22nd ruler of the Joseon Dynasty. The movie will show the 24 hours surrounding the assassination of this king. Hyun Bin is expected to show his majestic and charismatic acting in this role.

For Hyun Bin this role is significant in a few different ways. It's his first acting project after being discharged from mandatory military service, as well as his first role in a historical drama. The movie will be directed by Lee Jae Kyu, who has previously done works such as MBC's "Damo", "Fashion 70's", "Beethoven Virus", and more. This is his first movie project. After his return from military enlistment, it's rumored that Hyun Bin received a flood of love calls, and he could have easily chosen the easy and quick route. However, he chose The King's Wrath to break his 3 year break. This shows his determination to show off a new side to him, even if it takes a little longer. We can look forward to his role in this historical drama as he begins the 2nd chapter of his acting career.
