EXO member Kris jumped on the Instagram bandwagon on April 7, opening an account and uploading his first picture.

Within fourteen hours, the picture had over 200,000 likes and 95 thousand comments. Kris's account, galaxy_fanfan, had nearly 400,000 followers.

The picture depicted EXO's Canadian member wearing a stylish outfit while sitting against a mirror looking at his reflection, and said 'welcome to galaxy.'

Kris is the first EXO member to create an Instagram account, and the first member to create a public SNS account. However, he joins a growing group of SM Entertainment artists who use their Instagram accounts to communicate with fans.

The most popular SM Entertainment artist on Instagram belongs to Girls' Generation leader Taeyeon. Her account, taeyeon_ss, has over two million followers, and Taeyeon consistently updates fans with photos and videos.

The next most popular account also belongs to a Girls' Generation; Yuri's account (yulyulk) has over 1.2 million followers.

Following closely behind Yuri is SHINee's Key. Key's account, bumkeyk, recently gained over one million followers. Sunny (svnnynight,) another Girls' Generation member, trails Key only by a few hundred followers.

Key is the only member of SHINee to have an Instagram account, while two other Girls' Generation members, Hyoyeon (watasiwahyo) and Sooyoung (syofgg,) have accounts.

Several Super Junior members also have accounts that they regularly update.

Heechul (kimheenim,) of Super Junior, keeps fans entertained with pictures and videos of himself and his cat, Heebum. Donghae (leedonghae,) Shindong (earlyboysd,) Kangin (kanginnim,) and Yesung (yesung1106) also have accounts. Yesung is currently serving his civic duty as a public service worker, but updates his account regularly.

Amber of f(x) (ajol_llama) also has an extremely popular account. She has been known to post numerous pictures with other idols, and Amber has even made an Instagram account for her two dogs (jackjackandgongju.)

f(x)'s leader Victoria (vic_to_ri_a2) also has an account, although she only rarely updates it.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Kris constantly updates his account, like some of the SM artists do, or if he will let his account gather dust. Whichever it is, his account seems like it will be popular due to EXO's popularity, and fans are surely wondering whether any other EXO members will open accounts.
