Outdoor music festivals are awakening from a long winter sleep.

Major outdoor music festivals are finalizing their schedules and determining which performers will be participating, and appealing to the public. These large music festivals that take place outdoors disappear altogether during late fall and come back when spring rolls around. There are a myriad of genres these music festivals are targeting, including rock, electronic dance, hip hop, jazz, and more.

The first to open its gates will be 'Beautiful Mint Life'. It will take place from April 26th through May 4th at the Aram Nuri outdoor theater in Gyunggido Goyang. It will be the 5th year this event takes place. The slogan for this event is 'People and Flowers' Full Bloom'. Verbal Jint, Jaurim, 10cm, and approximately 50 other music teams will participate in this event.

'Greenplugged Festival 2014', whose motto is 'warm spring musical excursion', will take place from May 3rd to the 4th at the Nanji Hangang Park in Seoul, Mapogu. About 60 Korean bands have been confirmed for this event. The lineup includes Deulgukhwa Band, Pia, Kang San Ae, Jang Kiha and the Faces, Rose Inn, and Kim Bada.

Music events will be held every weekend thereafter. The electronic music festival 'World DJ Festival' will be held on May 4-5 at the Yangpyeong Athletic Park in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi. The 'Seoul Jazz Festival' will be held on May 17-18 at the Songpagu Olympic Park in Seoul. 'Rainbow Island' will be held May 31-June 1 at Nami Island in Chuncheon, Gangwon. 'Ultra Music Festival' will be held on June 13-14 at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul for all the music fans to enjoy.

Then the large outdoor concert market will make its move to rock festivals in the summer. Incheon Pentaport, Ansan Valley Rock, Supersonic, and other popular rock festivals are preparing for their July-August events.

Lee Se Hwan of Sony Music Entertainment stated, "Outdoor music festivals combine camping and picnic, music, and other popular elements together in this mainstream culture event for youths. Since the admission is not cheap, it's wise to consider all preferences and choose wisely. Many concert companies are preparing events, but some are suffering big losses."
