Super Junior's Shindong recently celebrated his sixth anniversary as the host of SimSimTapa.

The idol had begun to host the show in April 2008, and has left the show occasionally during promotional period but has never stepped down from his role as host.

The show began in 2005, airing between midnight and 2AM. The name SimSimTapa translated into 'Breaking The Boredom,' which is exactly what Shindong does.

Shindong has been a an entertaining host of the show of the past six years, and celebrated this week by bringing a cake onto the set and thanking fans for supporting him for so long. He introduced the show by explaining that it was an important day and called himself 'Shindong the Super DJ.'

The Super Junior member won the Radio Top Excellence Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards in 2013, and has received a lot of attention for his role as a DJ.

As a member of one Korea's most prominent idol groups, Shindong has stood out for his hosting abilities not only as a radio DJ but also has been the host and regular cast member of several variety shows and music programs.

Shindong began the show not only with his introduction and thanking his fan for support, but also sang along to Super Junior's song 'Walking,' which then played on air.

Many idols have appeared on SimSimTapa throughout its long history, including Shindong's fellow Super Junior members. On April 7, Super Junior M came to the show and played games with the radio DJ.

The show can be watched by international fans on MBCKpop's official channel, which streams SimSimTapa.
