Amanda Knox Retrial Update: Convicted Killer To Pay Damages To Villa Owner Where Meredith Kercher Was Killed? “Foxy Knoy” Not Covered By Double Jeopardy!?

Amanda Knox retrial conviction should also award compensatory damages to the owner of the unsold Perugia villa where Meredith Kercher was killed. It appears that "Foxy Knoxy" might still be extradited because her case is not covered by double jeopardy.

The owner of Via dela Pergola in Perugia, Italy villa already slashed $100,000 off the base price and still couldn't attract buyers because of the violent history of the house.

"I have a feeling though that because of its history the house will be difficult to sell but it should be said that it is in excellent condition and a very good buy for its location," estate agent Vincenzo Russo told MailOnline.

Chelsea Hoffman wrote for allvoices.com that Amanda Knox retrial should have included damages for the house owner because "hardly anyone wants to live in a house where a beautiful young coed was brutally murdered."

"She's already been sentenced, so it's too late to hold her responsible for the home, but the court should have ordered her family to pay restitution to the owner of the home," she added.

"Her actions destroyed a property that an innocent person is now stuck with, unable to sell. She ruined more than one life when she participated in Meredith's murder," she said.

Meanwhile, Pacific Standard magazine said that double jeopardy in extradition cases won't save Amanda Knox from being sent back to Italy.

As Amanda Knox's retrial lawyers have claimed that she is protected by Art. VI of the U.S.-Italy Extradition Treaty against double jeopardy.

"But the Article only relieves the U.S. of its obligation to extradite if the subject is charged with the same crime at home. Even if the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Constitution were in question, it would offer Knox scant hope," political consultant and Yale law student Rebecca Buckwalter-Poza wrote for Pacific Standard.
