Team B From 'Who Is Next: WIN' Added To YG's 'Family Tour' Dates In Japan: Is This Their Big Break?

Back in October, when Team A was selected as the team to become WINNER, YG Entertainment's newest boy band, on the reality television show "Who Is Next: WIN," many fans of their challengers on the show, Team B, called for the label to give the losing team a second chance.

A petition on the website Change.org addressed to YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk entitled "Don't Disband Team B! Both Teams Deserve To Debut!" received over 15,000 signatures.

But Yang stuck to his guns, repeatedly telling reporters both before and after Team A was selected as the group that would now be known as WINNER, that he would disband the losing team.

Yet, for fans that have still held out hope for Team B, there may finally be a break in the clouds.

On Friday, barely 24 hours before show time, YG Entertainment announced Team B would be included in Saturday and Sunday performances the "YG Family 2014 World Tour" in the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan.

"The reason for YG's hastily-made decision is that the survival program "WIN" was very popular with Japanese fans who make up a big portion of YG fans," read a press release posted to the South Korean record label and talent agency's website on Friday.

The label did little to clear up the question most likely on the mind of any fan of Team B; is this appearance just a one-off or the beginning of a new life for the band?

There was one line in the YG press release that did leave open the issue of a Team B album.

"Since Team B does not have a debut song yet, they will collaborate with other artists and of course, will work together with their former opponents WINNER, but as close friends this time," the YG press release read.

Since being selected by audience voting as the victorious team on "Who Is Next: WIN," Team A has performed for thousands of fans as WINNER, opening for YG superstar acts Big Bang and 2NE1.
