Many were stunned when Selena Gomez opted to fire her parents as her managers. Some wondered if Selena Gomez' rehab stint as well as her rumored reconciliation with Justin Bieber played major roles in the 21-year-old pop star's relationship with her parents.

Since 2007, her mother Mandy Teefey and step father Brian Teefey have been managing her career. After 7 years of partnership, the 'Come and Get It' singer cut her professional ties with her parents for she reportedly wanted a manager who would guide her in making "grown up" decisions.

Both Mandy and Brian reportedly talked to their daughter to confirm her decision. Justin Bieber's lady love confirmed her decision which understandingly shocked her mother. As per TMZ, Mandy did not take the decision amicably: "Mandy tells us she thought last month's conversation was just talk... and she's having a hard time processing the fact that she's no longer Selena's manager."

Nonetheless, despite the shock, the mother of the brunette beauty said that she would respect her daughter's decision.

Meanwhile, the 'Wizards of Waverly' actress was recently spotted enjoying the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California with no other than Bieber! While the young celebrities did not arrive together, onlookers reported that Bieber was with Gomez before he went onstage to join Chance the Rapper for a performance.

The 'Montecarlo' star, on the other hand, stayed with her girl pals including Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
