BoA Shared How She Got The Part For 'Make your Move' And Her Thoughts On Singing And Acting

No doubt that BoA is one of the female Korean artists who is very successful today, after debuting at an early age of 13 and now, as she turns 29, a lot has change for her and her career move into acting. BoA shared that she had no plans to be an actress but opportunity struck as she was cast to star on "Make Your Move". She said, "When I was busy with my singing career, the director came all the way to Japan and handed me a script. He saw my video on YouTube and thought that it would be good if I played the lead role of Aya. I was also suspicious and thought, 'Why a movie suddenly?' I share a lot of similarities with the character and her love for dancing, so I accepted it to express a lot of things through the movie. It started out as a dance movie, but it opened my eyes to acting... It's difficult to act in Korean, so I honestly felt pressured moreso because all of the lines were in English. Not only that, I had to have a command of the language like a native speaker."

She also explained her stance between singing and acting, "As a singer, my body is comfortable, but since the fans' expectations are high, my heart is not at ease. However, as an actress, my heart is at ease, but my body is uncomfortable... Nothing in life is easy. As a solo singer, I try to stand out on stage as much as possible. But in acting, more than one person are working together so being natural is best. That's the positive and negative of acting... Of course, the title 'actress BoA' is still strange and awkward to me. But if the staff on set call me, 'Our actress nim~,' I feel good."

BoA also starred in her first drama KBS 2TV's "Hope for Dating" and made also made a cameo in the film "Venus Talk" last year. Now, she was set to star in another film "Big Match".
