Song Hye Kyo and UAA Actors Deliver Relief Goods to Sewol Scene

Actors of Song Hye Kyo, Kang Dong Won, and Yoo Ah In's agency UAA sent relief goods to the Jindo harbor, where the families of the missing are currently boarded.

On April 21, UAA staff stated: "The actors of our agency sent relief goods in unity. They donated the goods under the management name, for they did not want to draw media attention".

The UAA actors' donation was first publicized through online communities. The agency was cautious in admitting to the act of charity, as the nation was under much distress.

UAA staff commented: "The actors wanted to contribute, even if it didn't mean much. They did not want to be known, so we are quite cautious about reporting this to the media".

Previously, celebrities' generous donations to aid the Sewol incident have been highlighted: major leaguer Ryu Hyun Jin and actor Song Seung Hun each donated $100,000 to support the rescue mission and the families of the Sewol sinking.

Actor On Ju Wan donated $10,000 to the Korean Salvation Army for rescue aid, while England's audition star Connie Talbot expressed her desire to donate her concert earnings to the cause.

Meanwhile, the ferry Sewol, with 476 people including Dan Won High School students, sank near Jindo on April 16. According to April 21 data, 64 are reported dead and 238 missing.

Song Hye Kyo is rumored to attend the 67th Cannes Film Festival from her appearance in "the Crossing," a Chinese film directed by John Woo. Although the film cannot be shown in the festival due to the fact that it is still being completed, the cast of the film may attend the festival to promote it.

"The Crossing" is an upcoming Chinese 3D epic drama film, which stars Zhang Ziyi, Song Hye Kyo, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Huang Xiao Ming, Bowie Lam, Tong Dawei and Masami Nagasawa. The film is based on the sinking of the steamer "Tai Ping" in 1949. The incident led to the deaths of over 1,500 passengers and crew.
