TV Programs on Full Hold... Radio Programs Remain Low

The sinking of the Sewol ferry has led many TV programs to put their programs on hold, while radio programs have selected to join in the grieving of the nation by playing respectful and serious songs.

All radio programs have erased all jokes and laughter from their set, choosing rather to remain calm and silent in light of the incident.

SBS Power FM's "Cultwo Show", popular for its comic and relentlessly humorous hosting, has eliminated all dance songs, playing "I'll Stand By You" as its opening song. The program continued to comfort listeners by playing songs like "Open Arms" and "The Prayer".

KBS 2FM "Super Junior's Kiss the Radio", a favorite of teenagers, is no different; song choices like "Miracle of December", "Comfort", "It's Okay" have been favored. By allowing listeners to request songs, the radio program has been able to encourage and support listeners in this time of trouble.

MBC FM "Park Jun Hyun and Jung Kyoung Mi's Hooray 2'Oclock" also provided a set to allow listeners to call in and express their sadness over radio. With melancholy and serene songs, the program also refrained from a joyful track set.

MBC FM4U's "Tablo's Dreaming Radio", which aired its first set on April 21, started off on a solemn note. Tablo, who returned as radio DJ after 5 years, stated: "I want to be with you all amidst the pain, confusion, anger, guilt, and sorrow. I hope this program will be a moment of rest in these times of unrest".

Jun Hyun Mu also took on a serious side. In his radio program MBC FM4U "Good Morning FM It's Jun Hyun Mu", he selected songs like "Honesty" and "Every Breath You", maintaining a professional attitude.

TV, radio, and the rest of the media have been in grief over the sinking of the Sewol. It is projected that this period of grief may continue for the next couple of weeks.
