LEDApple Hanbyul Holds Interview With Australia's 'SBS Dateline'

LEDApple member Hanbyul (Jason Jung) held an interview with Australia's "SBS Dateline" and revealed his story of becoming a K-Pop star.

He revealed that his family moved from Australia to Korea to support his dreams of becoming a star.

The interview also dives into his past of living in Australia and in Korea. His parents also reveal how they felt when their son first revealed that he wanted to become a singer.

Hanbyul stated, "Image is very important in the K-Pop industry. We even carry around our own make up kits."

K-pop is very big on image and aging does not seem to be an option in the cut throat industry.

Jung, who was born in Brisbane, has been impressing his quickly growing fan base as the lead singer of the relatively new K-pop group.

News.com.au has reported that Hanbyul has yet to get the kind of paycheck that most "rock stars" dream of getting, especially because LEDApple has yet to reach international stardom, as some K-pop groups have.

During his interview with Dateline, the 23-year-old singer explained his reasons for returning to Korea to pursue his dreams.

Jung stated, "The reason why I looked into the K-Pop industry instead of a singing career back in Australia is because of the perspective that Aussies have for Asian artists."

Hanbyul added, "And how difficult it is for an Asian artist to be successful in a Western country. That's the only reason why I came back to my parents' home country."

His fan base in South Korea and Japan has surprised Jung as much as it has his friends back in Australia.

Jason stated, "'I didn't know you could sing' is their main reaction. Because I'v never sung in front of my Aussie friends...ever."

SBS.com.au has reported that Jung had initally had a difficult time becoming the rising star that he is now.

The LEDApple member revealed, "My audition was a failure. I went back up to my CEO of the agency and I asked, begged, that he pick me to be in this group."

Jung also expained the expectations that his parents have on his singing career.

Jason explained, "I'm not enjoying the pressure that much. I feel as if I have to work twice as harder so that I don't disappoint them [his parents] because they've made a big sacrifice."
