Upcoming Dreamworks Animation Movies: ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ And ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ Expected To Hit It Big This Year! See Other Movies To Watch Out For

DreamWorks Animation upcoming movie list for summer this year until next year has already been released. The films include two new movies and three sequels.

1. How To Train Your Dragon 2 - June 13, 2014:
How To Train Your Dragon sequel will be distributed by 20th Century Fox based on Cressida Cowell's book series. This will be the second installation to the trilogy that was first released on 2010.The film which will be penned and directed by Dean DeBlois will take place five years following the first film, featuring Hiccup and his friends now in his late teens.

"At the end of last film, all these Vikings who were previously somewhat landlocked are now on the backs of dragons so the entire Northern Hemisphere opens up to them. And with that Hiccup's curiosity increases, the map expands and inevitably they are going to come across new dragons, new cultures," DeBlois revealed, he then "discovers a larger conflict brewing between humans and dragons and he finds himself at the center of it."

How To Train Your Dragon to will feature the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig with the addition of Kit Harrington, Cate Blanchett and Djimon Hounsou.

The film is scheduled for release on June 13, 2014.

2. Home - November 26, 2014:
Home is DreamWorks Animation new film which is based on the 2007 Adam Rex's children's book "The True Meaning of Smekday." It will feature an overly optimistic yet, highly incompetent alien race named Booy, led by Captain Smek. The inept alien race is out to invade Earth to hide from their mortal enemy. Captain Smek and his army starts to relocate the human race, believing that they are doing them a big favor, however, a witty human girl named, Tip manages to escape and runs into a banished Booy named Oh, who accidentally notified the enemies of their whereabouts.Home will feature the voices of Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin. Tim Johson will direct the 3D computer-animated film in production by Chris Jenkins and Suzanne Buirgy.

Captain Smek and the rest of the cast are scheduled to hit the big screen on November 26, 2014.
3. The Penguins Of Madagascar - March 27, 2015:
The Penguins Of Madagascar is a spin-off movie of the Madagascar film franchise. The film will feature the life of the penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private in their own spy thriller adventure with a twist of comedy.Directors Simon J. Smith and Eric Darnell will helm the film which, was penned by Michael Colton and John Aboud. The Penguins of Madagascar will feature the voices of Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, John DiMaggio, Christopher Knights, Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich.

DreamWorks Animation's The Penguins of Madagascar will hit theaters on March 27, 2015.
4. B.O.O.: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations - June 5, 2015"
DreamWorks Animation has released its own computer-animated supernatural action comedy titled B.O.O. Bureau of Otherworldly Operations. The film is based on the original idea of Tony Leondis, who will direct the animation film as well.Bureau of Otherworldly Operations (B.O.O.) is a top-secret government agency that employs supernatural beings (ghosts) to protect the human race from evil hauntings. The story will follow the new hired agents Jackson Moss and Watts following their discovery of a plot by the agency's Most Wanted Haunter to annihilate the agency.

Tom Wheeler will pen the script, Maryann Garger is producing, Kristine Belson and Courtney Pledger are executive producing, which, will be starred by Seth Rogen, Melissa McCarthy and Bill Murray.

B.O.O. will be released on June 5, 2015.


5. Kung Fu Panda 3 - December 23, 2015:
Kung Fu Panda 3 is DreamWorks Animation's third installment to the 3D action-comedy martial arts film starring a group of highly skilled animals.Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Rebel Wilson, Bryan Cranston, and Mads Mikkelsen will all be returning to reprise their roles in Kung Fu Panda's third installment.

Po, will be facing two highly epic threats that include one supernatural phenom and one that is actually closer to home.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, written by Jonathan Aibel & Glenn Berger, produced by Melissa Cobb, and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro.

The film is scheduled to be released on December 23, 2015.
