The members of JYJ continue to rack up the dramatic credits, as theater production house OD Musical Company announced Wednesday that singer Kim 'Xia' Junsu will star in a production of "Dracula" at South Korea's Seoul Arts Center from July 17 to Sept. 5.

The show's producer Shin Choon Soo told eNEWS that Junsu will be a different kind of Dracula, emphasizing the world's most famous vampire's more alluring qualities.

"With Kim Junsu's casting, we'll be able to show a charming and romantic Dracula that we wanted to create for this production," Shin said.

"After watching his other performances, we wanted to bring out the more rough and manly side of Kim Junsu in the musical. We are certain that Kim Junsu will be able to show off another side of his personality in this production. 'Dracula' will become one of Kim Junsu's signature performances."

In an official statement to eNEWS, a representative for OD Musical Company, the theater production house behind this staging of "Dracula," also talked about this staging being a different take on the gothic legend.

"Kim Junsu is an actor that can play a romantic Dracula, who has an innocent love towards a woman; unlike the original dark and scary image," the statement read.

"We decided that he is the actor who best fit the role, after having many meetings and watching his performances in other shows."

Actor Ryu Jung Han has been cast as Junsu's understudy.

The "Dracula" musical first premiered in La Jolla Playhouse in 2001, breaking the theater's box office record for a world premiere. It then opened on Broadway in 2004, starring Tom Hewitt.

"Dracula" will be Junsu's fifth musical. The singer's JYJ bandmates have both been appearing on television recently.

Kim Jaejoong can currently be seen in the Korean drama "Triangle." Park Yoochun just finished a successful run in the political action thriller "3 Days."

The show's finale aired on May 1.
