Paul Walker Accident Caused By Porsche Carrera GT's Malfunction? Wife Of 'Brick Mansion' Actor's Late Friend Roger Rodas Sues Automaker

While it has been decided that the unfortunate Paul Walker accident was caused by speed, the result of the investigation was apparently not enough for Kristine Rodas, the widow of Roger Rodas who was driving the Porsche Carrera GT. Last Monday (May 12), Mrs. Rodas opted to sue the giant automaker thinking that the car's design flaws contributed to death of the two men.

Mrs. Rodas claims that her late husband was only driving the Porsche Carrera GT at 55 mph, a speed generally considered as safe. Since her husband was known for his race car driving experience, she believed that the malfunction of the car suspension led to the accident. She also said that additional safety features would have prevented the accident.

"The Carrera GT was unsafe for its intended use by reason of defects in its manufacture, design, testing, component and constituents, so that it would not safely serve its purpose," reads Mrs. Rodas' lawsuit which is headed by lawyer Mark Geragos.

Previously, the Los Angeles Country Sheriff Department reported that the two men were traveling at a speed of 90 mph. This eventually led to the luxury vehicle's tilting and hitting of trees before being fully engulfed in flames in Santa Clarita, California.

Following Paul Walker's accident, his car collection will be sold through private brokers. Included in the collection are luxury brands Porsche, Mustang, Audi, and BMW.

Meanwhile, despite the Paul Walker accident, fans of the 'Fast and Furious' film franchise are still hoping to see the late actor in the seventh installment. It was previously reported that Cody and Caleb Walker would be considered to continue the unfinished scenes of their brother in 'Fast and Furious 7'.

Walker's last film, 'Brick Mansions', has likewise hit theater screens last April 25. Reports claim that part of the film's earnings will be given to Paul Walker's charity.
