Though Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes usually stay under the radar, a source claims that the actress is trying to change Ryan Gosling's fashion style "little by little" because she can't stand his man-jewelry!

According to Life & Style magazine, Eva Mendes, 40, wants to help her boyfriend Ryan Gosling, 33, with his fashion choices.

"[Ryan] has always done his own fashion and avoided working with a stylist, which has led to some odd clothing choices over the years, but now Eva is doing all of Ryan's shopping for him and she's trying to overhaul part of his look - specifically his accessories," claims a source.

The insider adds Eva "gets annoyed when Ryan goes overboard on the man-jewelry and she's not crazy about the fact that he's always wearing thrift store rings and second-hand necklaces and pendants."

"Eva feels she can make him look a lot better and hopes to change his style little by little," the source added.

"They're still a very happy couple but she wears the pants for sure - Ryan is very dependent and childish behind the scenes."

One piece of man-jewelry Eva must approve of is the necklace Ryan wore to the "White Shadow" San Francisco premiere, which was engraved with his girlfriend's dog's name. The pendant was stamped with the name "Hugo." Gosling is a known dog-lover.

Another thing's for sure: despite rumors of a break up, it looks like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are still dating!
