X-Men Days Of Future Past Box Office Predictions: Will It Shatter ‘Captain America’ Box Office Record This Memorial Day Weekend?

X-Men fans, get ready for the biggest opening of the movie franchise this weekend! ''X-Men: Days Of Future Past' is set to dominate the box offices all over the U.S. this weekend. It is expected to take in $100 million this Memorial Day weekend, if not more. Some experts are expecting the estimates as high as $125 million. Considering 'Captain America' had a weekend opening of merely $95 million in April, 'X-Men Days Of Future Past' is ready to shatter the box office records in a few day's time. If the film rises to the challenge, it will be crowned the biggest film of the year.

The film is not just set to break box office records. It's also looking to be the most successful X-Men film of all time. This is a great news to the Hollywood exes back in Los Angeles because this means that they could have the green light to churn out as many X-Men movies as their little hearts desire. The biggest revenue intake was back in 2006 with 'X-Men: The Last Stand' which opened with a $102 million over the weekend.

But the franchise definitely had some bumps along the road. The 2011 prequel and 2013's Hugh Jackman spinoff 'The Wolverine' were the lowest-grossing films in the series. Oops. But the executives back in Hollywood kept chugging at it. They may finally have a winner.

So what makes this film stand out from its brothers and sisters? It's all in the star power. The film will reunite Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and his bestie Ian McKellen, as well as keeping the usual Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Ellen Page, etc. Phew. The more pertinent question is, which actors got left out of 'X-Men Days Of Future Past'?

January Jones. But I don't think anyone will miss her try-hard sexiness as Emma Frost.
