Remember that pizza guy that Ellen DeGeneres brought on stage at the Oscars this past March? Well he's not just any old pizza delivery guy any more. He opened up his own pizza establishment and is now a proud owner.

Edgar Martirosyan became famous overnight for delivering 20 pies that Ellen DeGeneres ordered for the Oscars half time. Back then he was a lowly delivery guy at Big Mama's and Papa's rubbing shoulders with Hollywood celebrities like Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jared Leto and Jennifer Lawrence.

"I thought it was just a regular delivery," said Martirosyan, "I didn't know I was going to go on the stage."

His windfall fortune could have ended at the $1,000 tip that he received from Ellen DeGeneres and the actors. But he decided to expand on his 15-minutes of fame to start his own business. With the help of his brother, Erik, he opened up an artisanal pizza place in Silver Lake called 'Wood'.

This is not just half-baked idea either. Edgar and Erik Martirosyan really wanted to commit to this high-end pizza store concept. They purchased wood-fired ovens in the Neapolitan tradition. "We even have a mixer from Italy for the dough we make daily," Erik told the Los Angeles Times. "We wanted the right ingredients, the right products - all shipped from Italy."

Wood's website states that it offers "great food using local, organic and in-season ingredients within a warm, pleasant and trendy atmosphere" - and, of course, "top-notch service to make what is guaranteed to be an original dining experience."

If you are lucky enough to live in the area, don't just believe what the website says. Go try it out! Even if the pizza isn't the best you've ever tasted, you can rub shoulders with the guy that rubbed shoulders with famous people.

Edgar and Erik Martirosyan's long-term goal isn't fame and fortune though.

"We are hoping to do our best and make people happy," Edgar said, spoken like a true restaurateur. But who knows? Maybe next Oscars, his delivery guy will be called up on stage for another batch of, this time, artisanal pizzas.
