Korean idol member Suzy had the honor of throwing the opening pitch at a baseball game recently.

Suzy generated major media buzz on Monday when she attended the Dodgers-Reds game in Los Angeles in order to support South Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun Jin.

The always effortlessly chic member of Miss A was photographed in casual attire as she was rooting on the pitcher.

"In the coming May 29 morning (Korea time) Suzy will step up to the game between LA Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA," released Suzy's agency, JYP Entertainment, days before the event.

Suzy arrived in LA on May 25 and made her way the stadium to watch the first game and prepare for her pitch on May 27, according to the Inside Korea.

Suzy's encouraging presence appears to have worked as Ryu pitched a nearly perfect game, leading the LA Dodgers to a 4-3 victory over the Reds.

Ryu managed to hold off the Reds for seven hitless innings until three hits were made early in the eighth, according to the Korean Herald.

Ryu and Suzy had met previously in November of last year through the SBS program "Running Man," which is where Suzy learned some of her baseball skills.

Suzy will be throwing the opening pitch at the third game of the Dodgers-Reds series on May 29 as part of Korea Night, an event organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.

At the start of the second game of the series on May 28, Jung Yong-hwa, the lead vocalist of CNBLUE, will be singing the South Korean national anthem.

Suzy expressed her positive feelings towards Ryu and his performance after the games as well.

"Ryu's sacrifice bunt was really great and he pitched so well. Although he missed a perfect game I still think it was flawless. I had so much fun cheering for him and I loved seeing the game in person," Suzy commented through her management company.
