George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding is reportedly going to be inspired by "Downtown Abbey" as the "Monuments Men" actor is facing a huge tax bill for his fiancee's engagement ring.

According to MailOnline, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin flew to London to visit Highclere Castle, the location shoot for "Downtown Abbey." The lady barrister, it turns out, is a huge fan of the UK hit series and her future husband made some arrangements to take her to the set.

George Clooney then contacted Hugh Bonneville-who played Lord Robert Crawley in the series-so he could arrange a private tour of the castle.

"When he saw his bride-to-be's reaction to the spectacular Victorian castle, set on 1,000 acres of parkland, he began making some discrete inquires about having their wedding performed there," a source told MailOnline. "And he was told they would be most happy to accommodate them."

While George Clooney loves the idea of making his future bride happy, choosing Highclere Castle also provides another advantage: "It's a glamorous place he could secure," the source added.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding is set reportedly for September, or a year to the day after they first met during a charity event last year.

Meanwhile, even before the George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin wedding, the actor is already facing a hefty tax billl-or £93,577 to be exact-after her fiancee passed through the Heathrow Airport on May 13 without declaring the cost of the jewelry, Belfast Telegraph reported.

The rules of the HM Revenue and Customs state that pieces of jewelry worth over £390 and brought to the UK are subjected to duties and VAT.

"Bringing in goods from outside the EU, whether in person or through the post, could attract customs duty or import VAT. Customers should check the current limits on the HMRC website," and HMRC employee told the publication.
