Japan to Go Hot For K-Pop Again in August

K-pop is projected to get hot in Japan this August.

Big Bang's Taeyang, idol group VIXX and N'UEST targets Japan, while Younha, who made her Japan debut in 2004, once again promotes her album in Japan.

Although TVXQ, Girls' Generation, and Big Bang are still wildly popular in Japan, the tragic history between the two countries have placed their relationship in a cold state. The influence of K-pop had decreased, and the rising popularity of K-pop in China have turned K-pop's focus away from Japan.

But the return of big K-pop artists in Japan may change all that.

Taeyang releases his first Japanese solo album on August 13. He will tour Osaka, Yokohama, and Hukuoka, performing his concerts throughout the month of August. Six-member group VIXX releases their Japanese debut album on July 2 and performs in Tokyo and Osaka oin August. N'UEST will also release their hit album in Japan and begin on their 6-city tour in Japan.

Younha, who debuted first in Japan before Korea in 2004 at the age of 16, had stopped all Japan promotions due to agency conflict since 2010. Her return to the Japanese music market carries significance.
