Big Bang Daesung Tops Japan iTunes Chart With 'Rainy Rainy' Single

Big Bang member Daesung ranked No. 1 on the Japan iTunes chart with his Japanese single "Rainy Rainy."

The singer reportedly released his full mini album under the same name on June 11 in order to celebrate his "D-LITE DLive Tour 2014 in Japan" solo arena tour.

All four songs from his mini album ranked in the top 4 on the Japan iTunes chart.

Daesung will kick off his 15-stop solo tour in Yokohama Arena on June 11. He will then go to Kobe World Memorial Hall, Marine Messe Fukuoka, Xebio Arena Sendai, Hokkai Kitayell, Nihon Gaishi Hall and Nippon Budokan on July 17.

He will be meeting with approximately 125,000 fans.

"Daesung, who got fans wild with his successful Japanese solo and Big Bang activities, will make a comeback in both Korea and Japan. Through the release of his solo album and first Japanese arena tour, [Daesung] will showcase his abilities as a 'solo vocalist,'" stated YG Entertainment.

Daesung's solo career has been developing this past year. He released his solo Japanese album titled "D'scover" last year and ranked No. 2 on the Oricon weekly chart, setting the highest record for a K-Pop group member releasing an album in Japan.

Daesung also completed his solo tour in 2013, which consisted of performances in 20 cities, totaling 26 concerts.

His agency, YG Entertainment, has announced that Daesung will be releasing a new album on July 16, according to Allkpop.

The 26-year-old had begun his solo career back in 2009 with trot singles, which gained quite a bit of attention. Daesung wrote several solo tracks that have been added on to Big Bang albums, including "Baby Don't Cry" and "Wings."

The singer's first solo album, "D'scover," which turned out to be a huge success in Japan, has a total of 12 tracks and includes his hit tracks "Wings" and "Baby Don't Cry."
