Big Bang Taeyang Ranks 112th On U.S. 'Billboard 200' Chart, 'Best Record For Male K-Pop Artist'

Big Bang member Taeyang has been rising higher and higher in music charts all around the world with his new album.

The 26-year-old R&B singer ranked No. 112 on the "Billboard 200" chart, making him the highest-ranking male K-Pop artist, according to Billboard on June 12. The only group to beat this ranking is 2NE1, who ranked No. 61 with their most recent album, "CRUSH."

Along with the success of its artists, it's clear that YG Entertainment is making its way to becoming a global agency.

Taeyang's latest album titled "Rise" was seen on the Billboard World Album chart and Heat Seekers chart at No. 1. "Rise" also topped iTunes charts in 10 countries, as well as the U.S. iTunes R&B chart.

The talented musician made his comeback performance on the June 12 episode of Mnet's "M! Countdown."

The episode featured Cherry Filter's "Andromeda," Taeyang's "1AM" and "Eyes, Nose, Lips," San E & Raina's "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness," TAHITI's "Oppa You're Mine," Topp Dogg's "TOPDOG," Lee Ye Jun's "Promise" and Bob Girls' "No Way."

Despite the large number of comeback performances, Taeyang was nominated alongside INFINITE for first place. Taeyang won the episode with his performance of his hit single, "Eyes, Nose, Lips," according to Allkpop.

G-Dragon and Taeyang recently released video teasers for their collaborative photo book titled "G-Dragon x Taeyang in Paris 2014."

The book features photos and footage of when the pair was in Paris for fashion week back in January.

The photo book will be officially released on June 18, while pre-orders start on June 12 and end on June 17.

Even within the competitive, cutthroat K-Pop industry, G-Dragon and Taeyang's bromance is ongoing.

During a press conference in Seoul, Taeyang didn't hold back on compliments for his band member and friend, according to the Korea Herald.

"Jiyoung (G-Dragon) is amazing, but I don't feel that way many people do about him as I am always on his side. I thought I wanted to produce an album that does not lag behind his, but there is no competition between us," Taeyang stated.
