Oscar Pistorius muder case trial for the alleged killing of his girllfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, was extensively covered by CBS network for its "48" hours show as it noted similarities in "Blade Runner" and OJ Simpson's case.

Showrunner Susan Zirinsky told The Hollywood Reporter that there were a lot of things that troubled them about the case, not least of which is that they found it difficult to persuade people into sitting down with them for an interview.

"Was he in a rage? Was it celebrity gone bad? So I thought, if I don't get the main interviews because I'm not going to pay for them, I'm going to find a way to do this show without them. Somebody will talk to us that doesn't have to be paid," she said.

Marisa Guthrie wrote for Hollywood Reporter that the Oscar Pistorius murder case trial has some similarities with the O.J. Simpson case.

"Like O.J. Simpson, Oscar Pistorius is a famous athlete who rose to the pinnacle of his sport," she wrote.

"Similar to the Simpson trial in the U.S., the prosecution of Pistorius - the first trial to be televised live in South Africa - has become a national fascination. The country's top cable provider last March launched a 24-hour channel dedicated to the trial," she added.

However, the showrunner told NY Daily News that, "unlike the O.J. case, it's not a matter of if Pistorius did it. It's a matter of why."

According to the post-mortem report, the 29-year-old model Reeva Steenkamp died from the lone bullet to the brain when Oscar Pistorius shot her around 3 a.m. Three other bullets were lodged on the bathroom wall, another hit her on the thigh and another on the shoulder.

But expert witness Prof. Gert Saayman last month claimed that the three gunshot wounds she sustained could be fatal on their own. Her right arm was broken and she also suffered multiple skull fractures.
