Singer Kim Hyun Joong topped the Oricon Weekly Chart once again with his new single album "Hot Sun" on June 24.

"Hot Sun" was released on June 18 and had topped the Oricon Daily Chart on the day of its release.

Just one week after its release, the album ranked No. 1 in album sales on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

"It seems like Kim Hyun Joong's continual album activities and Japanese tours allowed close interactions with his fans, which led him to set a new record on Oricon. The new album 'Hot Sun' has earned people's interest by showing Kim Hyun Joong's capacity and charms as an artist," stated an affiliate of a Japanese record company, according to Yahoo Entertainment Malaysia.

This is Kim's second win on the Oricon Weekly Chart since 2012, when he topped the charts with his 2^nd single album "Heat."

Oricon stated that this is the first time a foreign male artist topped the Single Weekly Chart twice in 31 years.

Kim had topped the Tower Records reservations chart even before the release of his new single album.

The 28-year-old singer held fan meetings in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka after the release of "Hot Sun." The fan meetings were reportedly held as part of a premium event that Kim Hyun Joong specifically prepared for the fans that have waited for his comeback with unconditional support.

Taiwan will be the first overseas stop next month for the South Korean singer before he begins his mandatory military service, according to The China Post.

Kim will perform for fans on July 5 in New Taipei City following the opening in Seoul of his "Phantom" tour. He is scheduled to travel to Beijing, Bangkok and Yokohama in Japan later in the month before heading off to Osaka and Hiroshima.

He'll be heading to Shanghai and Guangzhou in China in August as well.

The "Boys Over Flowers" star is currently busy looking for his next production while promoting his album.
