You know the dumb stuff you say when you are testing to see if a microphone works? Well, the BBC accidentally released exactly that, pertaining to Game of Thrones nudity. Some users took to Twitter to post the message or screen shots of it before BBC News could take it down.

The bottom of the message added: "This is a breaking news story and the BBC News app will bring you updates as soon as they are available."

The same message was accidentally sent again soon after.

The BBC apologized through its BBC News feed on Twitter late Wednesday morning, saying: "We apologize for previous two test push notifications, which were sent in error to BBC News app subscribers."

Some websites initially speculated about a hacking attack. But the BBC, on another Twitter feed, AboutTheBBC, allayed those rumors by saying: "Not hacked, but glad you're an avid follower of our app."

Some social media users had fun with the incident. "So, it wasn't hackers. But we still don't know if there will be nudity or not in latest Game of Thrones episode," tweeted one person. And another one posted: "In fairness Game of Thrones not containing nudity would definitely be cause for a BBC news app notification."
