USA vs. Belgium will take place at the Fonte Nova arena, Salvador on July 1st 4 p.m. EST.

This marks Belgium's first appearance in the World Cup since Korea/Japan World Cup of 2002. Their best record in the World Cup was back in 1986 when they reached the semifinals.

The beloved US goalkeeper Tim Howard told "CBS This Morning" admitted that even though Belgium is "one of the up-and-coming superstar powers in Europe," he feels his team is "match up well against them."  

"We relish the role of underdog," Howard added. "It keeps us hungry. It allows us to not be complacent."

In Brazil World Cup 2014, team USA has transformed from being a sneered-at team to the favorite underdog. The fact that they got out of the group of death showed the team's potential to the world.

Belgium will attempt to channel their recent 4-2 victory against the American team in a friendly in Cleveland. The fact that the U.S. has only beaten Belgium once before (1930 World Cup) is a big consolation to the European team.

The U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann told the team, "Don't be content. Nobody can claim that he reached his 100 percent yet."

Defender DaMarcus Beasley, who has recently been lauded for playing in his fourth World Cup tournament, said, "We want to obviously do well for ourselves, for our country, but it's a big step for the growth of soccer if we get past Belgium".

Belgium is ready for the U.S. team's advances.  "What counts - always - is to win and advance," Belgian team coach Marc Wilmots said. "Every error is paid cash at the tiller. So what does 'the most beautiful football' mean? You tell me."
